Retired State Police Lieutenant Appointed As Adviser To Aliquippa Police Department

The City of Aliquippa’s embattled police department will now be getting assistance from a retired Pennsylvania State Police lieutenant.

Robert Johnson has been hired to serve as an outside consultant for the department by an administrator overseeing a state-run program for financially distressed communities.

Johnson has served as police chief of the Johnstown police department since 2017, another city in financially distressed status. Prior to that, he served 26 years in the state police where he retired as a criminal investigation section commander for Troop A out of Greensburg.

Johnson was introduced to the city council during their public work session on Wednesday.
