Commissioner Amadio Recovering From Possible “Minor Stroke” – Will Likely Be Out For Months

Commissioner Tony Amadio is recovering comfortably at home today after being hospitalized last week for what is believed to have been a “minor stroke.”

Amadio told BeaverCountian.com he has appointments scheduled with several specialists to get additional information about his state of health.

The commissioner was notably missing from last Wednesday’s public meeting and no official reason was given at the time for his absence. Sources in county government told BeaverCountian.com that officials were notified Amadio suffered what was described as a “minor stroke” on Aug. 2.

He was hospitalized at Heritage Valley Beaver before being transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh. He was released at the end of last week.

Amadio notified county officials he will likely not be in the courthouse for an estimated eight weeks while undergoing unspecified therapy.
