Two officials with knowledge of recent testing data from Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center tell BeaverCountian.com that at least 11 patients have died with the COVID-19 virus and another 57 have tested positive.
More than 10 staff members have also tested positive.
Administration of the facility refuse to answer phone calls from the media or respond to questions.
The facility has provided no information on the levels of infection or numbers of deaths to the press in recent days. Instead, Brighton Rehab’s administration today issued a statement saying the nursing home is “beginning to shift away from counting test results, and presuming all staff and residents may be positive, while continuing to isolate and aggressively treat those who exhibit symptoms.”

can this virus spread via water thats contaminated, like legionaires? thru the air vents?makes me wonder…cruise ships have recirculated air…and aircraft..
I have no doubt that Brighton Rehab will eventually be worst than The Life Care Center in Kirkland, Washington. Just the much larger number of patients here ensures that outcome. I fear the outbreak at Brighton Rehab will stain the reputation of Beaver County, PA for years to come.
Beaver County should get a stain over this facility. It was cited 26 times in the last year for its ability to control infections, that was before the virus. Once the virus outbreak occurred, what happened? The SEIU workers used that time to hold a gun to management heads to get a a raise. This is really about as sad and inept as it gets.
Looks like it wasn’t such a good idea to sell Friendship Ridge to this group. Now what are you going to do with your mother when she gets alzheimers ?????????
I wouldn’t have put my mother in there before this. Place has always been filthy
I agree had a friend in there a few years ago. I don’t know how they can contain it 4 people to a room and everyone on the wing shares a bathroom. Prayers for them all.
resolution plan:
1. mobilize the state guard and get this place secured with proper medical personnel
and security
2. test and back trace each employee and get them self isolated as needed
3. begin to properly and methodically notify the public of all cases in the county in
real time
4. Get these patients out of that hell hole if they are not infected before more people
die
200 employees – this area could turn into NY! Where and the hell is our leadership ‘State and local ? ” we don:t have jurisdiction over the facility ” were living under basically martial law and you can’t get an executive order from the Governor to respond to this dangerous condition right now, this minute, tomorrow ?
This is shear madness and simply shows the rot within that has taken place in our system! Leadership is what is needed RIGHT NOW THIS VERY MOMENT on the local and state level!
Right now before more people contract this terrible virus!
The Governor will not do anything. The owners held a fund raiser for him there.
News flash: patients die there at the rate of about one every two or three days since the 1960’s. They have to be very weak and sick to get in.
This is all overkill
