Beaver County Preparing Time Capsule For Citizens Of 2076

Beaver County is preparing a time capsule to be opened by its citizens of 2076.

County Solicitor Garen Fedeles displayed a wooden box during the commissioners’ public work session today that will serve as the county’s unconventional time capsule. Fedeles said a panel chosen to oversee the project’s construction, and to fill the box, decided against burying it.

A prior time capsule rumored to have been made by the county has never been found, Fedeles said, and individual municipalities, including Vanport Township, have had their own difficulties locating capsules from the past.

In This Article:

  • Why the county decided not to bury this one.
  • The "letter from 2076" Fedeles read aloud to the room.
  • How residents can get something of their own inside.
