The administrator of a large Facebook “news” group in Beaver County has been convicted of using the social media platform as part of a campaign of harassment against a former neighbor.
Deanna Marie Romigh, 35, of New Brighton, was convicted today of two summary counts of harassment following a trial before Magisterial District Judge Dirk Goodwald.
Romigh is the founder and administrator of “The News Alerts Of Beaver County,” a Facebook group boasting more than 42,000 followers.
Beaver Falls Police filed the charges against Romigh in April alleging she sent her neighbor dozens of harassing text messages and used her 42,000 member group to publish false accusations about the woman. Romigh was fined a total of $350 for the two convictions plus court costs, according to court dockets.
