Commissioner Manning & Treasurer Egley Have Very Different Takes On Viral Nike Ad

A national video advertisement by Nike has garnered tens-of-millions of views on social media in recent days and two elected officials in the county have taken notice.

Launched by the company on Thursday, the “You Can’t Stop Us” ad shows a split screen that seamlessly pieces together sports footage of a diverse array of athletes. The viral video addresses both the Black Lives Matter movement and the COVID-19 pandemic, showing Colin Kaepernick taking a knee in protest of police and workers in hazmat suits disinfecting stadium seats.

The ad caught the attention of Beaver County Commissioner Jack Manning and Treasurer Sandie Egley who posted their reactions on Facebook. Although both politicians are Republicans, they expressed vastly different views about the video.
