A lawyer from the same law firm which represents the City of Beaver Falls will be defending a Beaver Falls Councilman’s son in the Blue Steel beating case, the Beaver Countian has learned.
Marlo Dame Cleckley Jr. turned himself into police today on an outstanding warrant on charges of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and disorderly conduct, for his alleged role in an attack on 32 year old Patrick Castellano of Industry.
Cleckley is the son of Marlo Cleckley Sr., who has served as a member of Beaver Falls City Council since 2009.
Along with Cleckley, Craig Rawl Jr., 21 of New Brighton, Michael Dee Stevenson, 22 of Beaver Falls, and Larance Armoni Lowe, 22 of Aliquippa, were also charged in the attack, which took place outside of the Blue Steel club in Monaca during the early morning hours of Thanksgiving day.
Court records show that Michael F. Santicola, from the law firm of Sainovich, Santicola & Steele, is now listed as the criminal defense attorney for Marlo Dame Cleckley Jr. Attorney Shannon L. Steele, also from the same firm, currently serves as the City of Beaver Falls Solicitor.
Although both attorneys are from the same firm, the City of Beaver Falls is not in anyway involved in paying for Cleckley’s defense.
As of the time of this report, Cleckley is currently being held in the Beaver County Jail after failing to post a $25,000 bond in the case.
A cellphone video provided to the Beaver Countian by a witness of the assault shows Patrick Castellano being drop kicked in the head, and a second video taken moments later shows the man laying unconscious and bloody while a group of people continue to violently attack him. Castellano was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was admitted. The man was released Friday morning and is expected to make a full recovery.
Readers of the Beaver Countian helped to identify some of the suspects and witnesses to the assault after video of the attack was released by this publication.
