I am a Democrat and I have a friend who is a veteran who is Republican who is unemployed thru no fault of his own and he claims that Republican Rothfuss doesn’t do anything for Beaver County nor does he find a solution to help the unemployed people in his own district. I debated him on this topic and I find myself siding with him after a 1 hour debate after he contacted Rothfuss’s office and was sent a letter that Rothfuss is NOT in favor of extending unemployment benefits to the former working man. In this case, he will not vote for the extension of emergency unemployment benefits because more or less he said they need to find a job. He thinks they are lazy and living like welfare recipients wanting a free ride. The Republican stance on this extension is not to help in any way financially to the unemployed people who need it, but to create new jobs for them (What a fantasy Rothfuss believes in a bad economy). This extension isn’t a welfare for life person Republicans. This is temporary relief help in bad economic times to the former WORKING PERSON who lost their job by no fault of their own. It is for a 6 month extension. Rothfuss is AGAINST this extension and wants a plan put in place to create more good paying jobs instead. Sounds good Rothfuss- But this won’t work in a bad economy. PLUS- Rothfuss talks a great game to the people in his coffee public talks, but WHERE IS HIS PLAN to help the unemployed? He has NO PLAN! He’s not bringing it to the table if he indeed has one. The only plan he has is to Screw the working man who lost their job. Every week that goes by The Republicans are making the unemployed bankrupt and having to go on welfare forever. They have no choice until the economy improves. They can’t pay their bills with no income coming in. By not voting on granting the extension, people are losing their total savings, 401k-Roth IRA retirement money, house, car, and dignity all because Rothfuss & his Republicans won’t vote for an unemployment extension to help the former working man who wants to work but can’t due to the economy. Now I know that this vote has not come to the house yet. But when it does, watch how the overpaid politician Rothfuss brushes off the former working man and places the blame all on the Democrats as to why he will vote NO for an extension of unemployment benefits. And we have the money from the farm bill to pay it to the unemployed. I am a Democrat and I am ashamed at the Democrats for backing Obamacare. I as a Democrat can stand up against things that are bad that goes against both parties…Republicans can’t/won’t. Rothfuss stinks!! He’s not his own man – he’s a puppet. He’s not for the PEOPLE. He’s not for Beaver County. He’s in this for the ride of a good paycheck/retirement for HIMSELF…NOT THE PEOPLE HE REPRESENTS in Beaver County!!! Wake up voters!Mar 13, 2014 at 3:36 am #172020
I should have proof read before hitting the button. I know Rothfus is a Senator, but what I was meaning to say is when the vote comes to the “floor” not the house. Apologies.Mar 15, 2014 at 1:13 am #173970
SILENCE!!! JUST SILENCE FROM YOU, AHUDONTNOSHIT!!!!! You write one long run-on sentence / paragraph, then you have to apologize for fucking it up.Mar 21, 2014 at 12:08 pm #178185
Small point on your rant and subsequent edit: Keith Rothfus is a Congressman, not a senator. Your writing and grasp of the facts is usually much better. Might want to consider backing away from the keyboard if you’ve been into the tequilla bottle.Mar 21, 2014 at 3:35 pm #178186

vondel! Is that you?!?Apr 25, 2014 at 6:15 pm #204026
Rothfuss might be the only Republican in Beaver County so of course it’s his fault. And BTW, after 99 weeks of unemployment, your extension is no longer an emergency, it’s a lifestlye.Apr 26, 2014 at 1:47 pm #204038
The main reason jobs in the area are so diffcult is because the democraps for ages have been sponsoring a welfare state. Former Burgermeister Eddie Spendell as an example would take his fat federal welfare check. Divide it into giant checks he could peddle around to unions. Makes a great photo op. Keeping the rest of us low income and under their thumb. Pennsylvania in general is one of the most hostile against companies. When it comes to taxes and regulations. Unless your greasing some palms or have a CED check or other government handout. They aren’t interested. Of course anyone coming along. Trying to “fix” things is going to have a very difficult time because no one wants to do the hard work to return us back to a productive society.
