Jeremy Angus formally announced his campaign for the Republican Nomination for State Representative in Pennsylvania’s 16th Legislative District this week. Along with a kickoff party at Alexander’s in Ambridge on Thursday, Angus simultaneously unveiled his campaign’s website, and released a video introducing himself to voters.

The 16th is currently represented by Democrat Rob Matzie, and includes Aliquippa, Ambridge, Baden, Conway, Economy (Districts 1,2,3, and 5), Harmony, and portions of Allegheny County.

“An area once thriving due to the power of the steel industry is now being left behind as a community that has begun to accept itself the way that it is” said Angus in a statement. “The 16th District and Western Pennsylvania as a whole have the opportunity to become something great, to become an area that others envy to be.”

Jeremy Angus serves as the Executive Director of the Ambridge Chamber of Commerce, and is a recently elected Board Member of the Ambridge Area School District.
